Subject:Ham-Suz XB-2 - It's ALMOST 20 YEARS!

It's almost scary but right around this month, it's 19 years since I
acquired a Hammond XB2. I'd first played one in Sam Ash several months earlier
(late '91), and was smitten on the spot! When I finally bought it I thought
it was the greatest non-B3 B3 ever (never played the late-'70s CX3; at
that point all I knew "from" synthetic Hammond, were weak DX7-ish attempts)...
and it had a Leslie effect! INCREDIBLE! I played that floor model XB2
through a Leslie 760 or headphones for the next 7-odd years, 'til the advent
of the XK2 (3 years for that; then the "new" v2 CX3 for another 6, then the
Nord C1, THEN the C1 w/Vent... but I digress)

I really loved the Hammond-Suzuki XB2, digital warts and all... how did
the rest of us feel about it? Were you as knocked out?
