Serg,

If you are looking for a recommendation for the Scarbee stuff, I can give you an
enthusiastic thumbs-up. I assume that the NI version is the same sample set that
Scarbee used to put out under their own name. If so, it is still the best in the
business. Nothing else comes close.

Hi, all

Went to the Musikmesse, lasted 3 hours. Then the noise got to me.
I managed to squeeze a few things in the time I spent there.
Here are some impressions, quick and personal, without getting into the whys and

hows:
1.Elvio showcased the old stuff only. Expander and the new version of KeyB were
not hooked up.
Tried the single manual, hoping for something better than Numa, and did not get
it. Had a hard time plugging in the headphone jack. Go figure.
2.Tried the new Hamichord and Crumar Mojo, and was very pleasantly surprised. At

this point, I would recommend both
over all other clonewheels. Prices seem very competitive. Mojo still going
through iterations to clean up the control panel,

which is something it definitely needs.
3. Tried the SK-2. Sounds like the XK1 to me. Additional sounds ok, nothing to
get too excited about. Controls crowded
and not intuitive. Reminds me of Nords stage keyboards in that regard. It is
compact, similar to Mojo.

4. Tried the Rhodes. Sounds sweet, but is, of course, super expensive.
5. Tried Waldorf's el. piano. Rhodes and Wurli very good, the Clavinet not.
6. Wanted to try Scarbee Vintage Keys from Native Instruments and could not even

find them. Looks like they did not show up.
Disappointed, since I expected a major software company like them to put in an
appearance in the biggest music show, taking place in their own country. Since I

have not found a dealer where I can try out the package, I will not buy it.
7 Yamaha came out with MOX6, a new version of their MO, but with the XS sound
engine. So, same sounds, inferior keyboard and an excellent price.
8 Roland came out with Jupiter 80. They keep resurrecting the old, vintage
names, and that is about all these instruments have in common with

the originals. And the color of some buttons....
9. Tried the Mellotron and chatted with the friendly owner of the company. Nice
sounding instrument if you want that vintage sound without worrying if the tapes

and the motors will hold up.
10 Missed the Gemini girls, but there was plenty of beer and sausages for
everyone. No sightings or gigs by famous musicians (no offence to those brave
souls who put in the time demoing the products and trying to overpower the
others in the expo halls.)
