Subject:Re: Keyboard stand tier identification?

Mark,

I use a Quiklok Z-726 and I have enough room for a guitar effects processor
(Vox ToneLab LE), Vent remote footswitch, and sustain pedal. I know that
they also make a Z-726L which has a wider footprint for long 88-note boards.
The Z-726 is fine for my slim 88-note board. I don’t know how wide the
Monolith is and I know it’s kind of similar to the Z-series. I just thought
I’d add this as an possible option for you. There’s plenty of room for
pedals and I would think unless you play with a really wide bass pedal board
you shouldn’t have any problems. The Z stand I use has an adjustable piece
for height and a round gear mechanism for angle. I actually removed the
height piece so my 88-note controller and Electro would be closer together.
It works great. I could send you some pic’s if you would like to see it. I
recently tried to use a US Apex again last weekend and only could “stand”
it for one gig and brought the Z-726 back out…It’s stable and does what I
need it to do…Now If I only had my cargo van that allowed me to leave it put
together…Setup takes a little bit of time but the results are worth it to
me!!!

Good Luck

Brian

I¹m late to the game on this thread, but here¹s my take on the X-stands. I
used them, I still have one that I pull out on occasions, but I dislike them
because it¹s very difficult to position a pedal board under them with enough
clearance for my needs. Also, positioning a second tier to get the upper
keyboard to be ergonomic for my needs also is frustrating. Depending on my
needs and whether or not I¹m using a single or double keyboard setup, I
switch between an Invisible Support, Standtastic, or a QuikLok Monolith. I¹m
still in search of that perfect stand....
