Subject:Bye, Bye VK8m
My much loved Roland VK8m module ( subject of many reviews) was STOLEN
last Friday in Portland Oregon.
I loaned it to a friend so he could make a gig at the Trail's End blues
club in Oregon City and someone broke out his window and got the VK8m, and A
-33 controller plus a Roland expression pedal and gig bag that also fit my
Numa.
I liked the VK8m so much that I did not intend to sell it. I had actually
come up with some ways to use it along side the Numa for bass functions and
also for a way to have adjustable percussion volume on the Numa if needed.
With all the new gear coming out lately I probably will wait and see what
pans out and may not replace it .Having a Numa sort of makes it redundant .
I don't mind helping another player who may not have the funds to buy
gear.... but it often doesn't work out in my favor.
The A-33 and VK8m were a great pair ( 76 keys was cool!) . I still think
that the chorus on this was on par with any clone including the Numa. With
the right programming and when using a real leslie it was very effective.
It will be missed.
