Since an X stand usually relies on one pin and a small welded piece, it's fairly easy to reinforce the X with a piece of flat aluminum (or steel) and a couple of holes tapped into the X frame with 1/4 x 20 threads to receive bolts with plastic knobs for easy assembly. A mod like this adds much stability at the cost of a couple extra minutes of set-up and little extra weight if you happen have some very basic metal working chops.
