For dialing in your sound, if you haven't tried it already, give the Type IV amp a try with the Tone dial towards Bright. With the rotary sim bypassed, Type IV seems to give a more clean, bright tone similar to a direct feed from an organ. It sounds less "colored" than the other amp models, which is probably what is needed when going into an external rotary unit. That might help it to cut through better live.

Yes, the default percussion setting is too loud in the upper octaves. I turned mine down one notch, but turning it down more than that makes it too quiet in the lower octaves. I don't find it well balanced, unfortunately. And it's too bad the user interface is such a chore for adjusting the settings.
