I just checked my XK-3 and '3c. The click changes on both with repeated key presses. I don't know if the frequency range of the click goes through a cycle so that for example if the key is pressed every .x seconds the same point in the cycle is hit so the click then sounds the same but pressing keys rapidly did change the tone. It could be heard through my amps and seen with spectrum analysis software. I sent the signal through amps rather than Leslies so the rotation wouldn't be a factor.
I don't think he meant velocity of the keys being pressed in the way a piano sound would be dependent on key velocity, I think he was referring to the rapidity with which keys were being pressed/released/pressed again. Notes are triggered by the high switch and if click depended on velocity sensing it would be late.
