Subject:RE: VB3 / Receptor

Hey Donn:  One easy fix regarding VB3 and your different controllers, contact www.ashbysolutions.com and purchase a Midi Solutions Event Programmer Plus (around $160 I think).  You can get it programmed by him, or program it yourself, and I believe you’ll be able to store the different settings you have for your controllers all inside it, or save the different programs, and just load the box before you use it depending on which controller you need.  It sucks buying all these accessories, but as we all know, if you want to do something that’s not ‘standard’, this is the penance we pay.  (I have 2 midi solutions boxes in my rack, one converting volume to expression, and another that maps XK1 drawbars to B4, and another pair of these boxes in a cabinet. )
Tony: Regarding VB3 (which I also have running on my Receptor), have you tried just clicking the learn button and assigning midi control of your parameters within the Receptor itself? That's really where you should be doing it.

(donn: - Tony this 'learn' feature is great, but the VB3 Midi Map CC data gets stored in the VB3.dat file which is stashed in the Receptor VST VB3 folder I DO NOT HAVE ACCESS to. That's one of my original complaints. Because I have a variety of controllers I use, I would like to tweak the Midi Map for each controller because not all controllers have assignable CC switches, i.e. Voce. This is where Guido understandably suggests editing.)
