Hi. I’ve been repairing the old Korgs for several years now. It sounds like
one of the 10-ohm current limiting resistors on the KLM-244 board fried,
most likely from a failed SM304A, SM305A, or SM305B chip. I have all of
these parts available if you would like to do the repair yourself, or you
can have me repair it for you. It’s easy to remove and send out to me.

I've heard that certain electronic parts for the original Korg BX-3
haven't been made for over 20 years and are very hard to find (unless
you get another vintage BX-3). The good news is that you certainly can
get an awesome Hammond Clone for well under 3 Grand. A new Hammond XK1
costs less that half of that and will sound much better. Ebay is full
of digital Korg Clones, Roland VK-7's and VK-8's, and lots of other
clones for really good prices!
