Subject:Re: Best Vibrato/Chorus scanner emulation on a clonewheel....
I didn't have any problem with the basic sound of the VK7 apart from the
fact that I thought that the chorus vibrato was improved a bit on the VK8m.
As I have said before , to me at least the VK7 and VK8 series have sort of
a " neutral" sound, which I like . I am not going to point fingers at
specific clones but I have heard plenty of them that seem to try to add
"charcter" ( my best way to describe it) that I don't particularly care
for. Particularly in the leslie simulation.
As I recall there were a few different versions of the VK7 chorus vibrato.
I heard one in L.A. one time that had chorus vibrato that was very similar
to the chorus vib on my VK8m Vintage 1 setting. It was right next to the
latest "version 3 " popular organ clone and IM (Humble) O it blew the latest
and greatest right outta the showroom. I can't imagine why this VERY
popular clone is so popular.
That is interesting that the VK7 has an independent percussion source
though.
