Subject:Ocean Beach controller - sorry to keep posting on this topic
Dalla,
I'm not sure where you got the impression that the issue I raised regarding the NORD C1/C2 working with an Ocean Beach Controller had anything to do with a part failure? Perhaps you misread one of my posts?
The issue is with the current NORD operating system, and it's not a defective part, it's simply based on how NORD has chosen to implement transmission of midi velocity and controller data in the current Operating System. They said in a note to me, that they would endeavour to resolve this in a future release of the C2 operating system (but who knows when that will be). In the mean time they provided a "work-around" which satisfies my requirements, and allows me to transmit both controller AND velocity information simultaneously, on both manuals, so I can run the Ocean Beach Drawbar while sending midi notes with velocity to an external synth module.
On the other hand the C1 does work with the drawbar controller AND an external synth module, but just not both manuals at the same time. This is a reasonable implementation (not perfect) but it's quite workable.. I think the ability to use the drawbar controller on one manual while sending midi velocity to an external synth module on the other manual, while not ideal, will satisfy most users.. I doubt that Nord will do anything about this on the C1.
Hope that clears up any confusion..
Regards,
Craig MacDonald

So, is NORD saying it's a faulty part? Are they going to help with the cost?
