Yeah, it's true: The BX-3 and CX-3 have been retired over a year now.
The rumor that I heard is that the current design didn't meet the RoHS
(lead- and other hazardous substances free) manufacturing requirements,
and given that a B-3 clone is a bit of a niche market to start, Korg
decided not to go through the cost/time to bring it up to date.

It's a shame, because the Korg organs were some of the most accurate
copies, from a physical and ergonomic point of view. (The first time I
played a BX-3, it felt like 'coming home.' Every control seemed to be
in the right place.) The sound engine technology inside is getting a
bit old, but one would have to believe that a company like Korg could up
the ante with a new version -- if they wanted to. But, they didn't want
to ... :-(

On the other hand, as a lifelong design engineer and a small business
owner, I can understand that it's all a matter of investing your
development and manufacturing money wisely. To a company the size of
Korg, the Hammond clone market isn't as attractive as it is to smaller
companies like Clavia (Nord), Voce, and DLQ (KeyB). They (Korg) would
probably rather make workstations, since the market is larger.
