Subject:Re: Touch (Depth) Sensitive XK3c Keyboard

Yep,

All or nothing on an XK-3(c). On a vintage Hammond you don't get the high drawbar footage first, the order of the drawbars how they appear seems to be random (I never really compared all keys - I only have a spinet which does not have harmonic foldback) but anyway: whether it is randomly or not, the drawbars do not appear in descending order when you press a vitage Hammond key very, very slowly.
The effect is awesome when you slap the keys lightly for percussion effects or something which equals X-notes on a bass/guitar or ghost notes on a drum kit. You can do it on an XK-3(c) but the effect has no "depth".
I personally think that it is NOT necessary to have nine key contacts (=$$$$). Random key click using key velocity (=if yo never reach the "down" position of a key, you get randomly less of the drawbars - tha would do the trick - an I am sure someone right now is working on that!) - similar to the already very convincing key click on the VB-3 software clone - would do the trick.
