I love it! It's the best instrument EVER!!

Apparently the previous owner used a 'latching switch' like guitar amp switch I think to change speeds can I deconstruct that and rewire it to the half moon switch? Would that work or is the half moon a different kettle of jazz fish? I will take some pics tomorrow and post for you kind repliers!
