I had a Korg CX-3 and sold it to get an Electro 2.That being said I have
seen some VK-8 demos on YouTube that sounded pretty good with the rotary
simulator.If drawbuttons aren't a problem check out a used Electro 2 the
other sounds alone are killer (Clav, Rhodes, Wurly, etc.) I think any of the
three mentioned typically go for around $800-$900.

Subject: [CWSG] Korg CX-3 vs. Roland VK-8

I'm in the market for a clone-wheel module, but can get used CX-3 or VK-8
off eBay for a better price than most modules. I do not have the luxury of
being able to try either, so relying on online User Reviews, You-tube and
recommendations from users on this forum.
That being said, whatever I end up with MUST sound better than a Hammond
XK-2 (been there, done that - no T-shirt)and have a reasonable built-in
Rotary Sim (Ventalator eventually on the wish list). Lastly, my playing
style/sound preference is more vintage rock (Winwwod, Heap, Santana, etc..)
than jazz or blues.
Any personal experience or recommendations are greatly appreciated & does
anyone have links to the Clone-wheel shoot-offs? (I can't seem to find them)

Thanks,
Grant
