They can drop prices and direct-sell but based on the things I've seen and heard they HAVE to put them on the streets or the Ventura stays a wannabe.
They have to compete with Nord, HS, Roland etc. To get a share of the market. I don't see that happening right away.

The only problem with this is that there's no way to try it out. Most factory-direct purchases come with some sort of evaluation/money-back-guarantee policy. But according to the web site, there's a 25 percent restocking fee (plus shipping) for returning an *unopened* product, and an implication that an opened product can't be returned at all. If people can't try them out, I don't see very many people willing to purchase them if they're not returnable, or even returnable only with a very hefty fee. I mean, even if they took an open box back (which it sounds like they won't), who would risk over $400 just to try it out?
