Subject:Re: Clonewheel Shootout 2010

I tell you.... I still am learning things about what the VK8m module will
do.

How much time did the 2010 experts take to adjust parameters on these
clones? Probably none. They just walked up to them and played them as is.

That is what I like about clones. There is an art to tailoring the sound so
that you could come up with a convincing and satisfying sound that would
please yourself, the average listener, or even a tough critic.

You give an artist a palette of paints and a canvass, and he creates. We
are either pleased with the results or not. There are many different
possibilities.

I am still learning things about the VK8m leslie sim after about 4 years
with it. When the Ventillator came out, I asked myself if I really needed the
latest toy. I dug a little deeper and got even more satisfying results. The
VK8m sim is a good sim. My latest attempt has me reducing mic distance in
the woofer rotation for a less phasey sound. It is very convincing in
stereo, and I found that I really do like having a true stereo sim.

I am thankful that we have these tools which in many cases can fulfill our
needs. Many of the stages that most of us play on these days will simply
not accomodate a console and leslie.
