Subject:2101 Mk II Leslie ( noise whenoverdrive turned on? )

Hi,
Just got a 2101 ( Mk-2) and noticed that when I turn up the overdrive knob from the off position to ( just switched on, and anywhere beyond that )that there is a noise that sounds a little like a constant bass pedal sounding )
( similar to the G on a 13 note bass pedalboard with a drawbar just pulled out so it sounds. )
I checked to see if it had anything to do with mains loop but it occurs even if no leads are attached ( eg. 11 pin lead )

You can hear a click on turning the overdrive knob from fully anti-clockwise to just 'on'. and the bass noise appears right away.

Is this something that is normal?
