Lmao---kind of.  The sounds and layers he's using are more complex (and too large) to sample and throw in the Motif, but you know that.  In your line of work, I'd figure you'd have a little empathy for what is really entailed in his gig.

Just seems over-complicated to me. If you want redundancy, just have two of everything on stage.

In the 70s, the B3/MiniMoog/ piano was a state of the art rig, and was all you needed for BJ.  Since then, Joel has recorded with DX7s, M1s, D50s, and whatever other synths and gear came out.

I remember seeing Billy Joel in the 70s and 80s. Real piano, mini moog, and a B3. None of those hundreds of processors, etc that DR uses. Funny thing that the sound is not that much better ( I saw the BJ Elton tour last year) How times have changed.

I'm not a super big Billy Joel fan but this was killer!!! I love Elton
though!!!! I always found Elton a bit more "keyboardcentric" than Billy. He
used a lot of synths along with the piano.YMMV They both seem like awesome
guys and Rosenthal is a freakin' keyboard geek without a doubt, I love it!!!
