Subject:Re: Great Video Interview with David Rosenthal

It's never "pretty minimal".  It's the same situation, minus the footcontrollers David uses for programming switching, but other than that, it's really not rocket science.  With Jordan, he has his controller (whether the K2600, or the Oasys) mapping everything, down to the point where on some songs, when he his a low C, he's actually playing an F#.  He's running 2600 modules offstage, or was; these days, the Fantom X8 is triggering not only his Receptor(s), but also a few Roland Vsynth Gts, whatever else he's got back there, plus a Voyager and a Memotron.

Redundancy in rigs like David's are standard in tours of that magnitude.  You guys read Keyboard magazine right?  How many times have you read Michael McKnight's column about the Madonna/Maria/Janet/EW&F/ELP tours he's done, and how on top of all that rack gear, he's still got a couple Macs involved with switches so if one rig fails, he hits a button and Rig #2 takes up where #1 left off.

That said, I haven't seen Billy since he played at the first Farm Aid, and I was happy to hear him play B3 for that set (and he's got great B3 chops).
