I have to admit I didn't understand all of the peripherals he uses. Seems like a lot of gear for a pretty simple sound.

I remember seeing Billy Joel in the 70s and 80s. Real piano, mini moog, and a B3. None of those hundreds of processors, etc that DR uses. Funny thing that the sound is not that much better ( I saw the BJ Elton tour last year) How times have changed.

I'm not a super big Billy Joel fan but this was killer!!! I love Elton
though!!!! I always found Elton a bit more "keyboardcentric" than Billy. He
used a lot of synths along with the piano.YMMV They both seem like awesome
guys and Rosenthal is a freakin' keyboard geek without a doubt, I love it!!!
