To me it's well worth the $500. It sounds ALMOST as good as my 145 and tube preamp combination (over $2,000 worth of gear). It's a LOT easier on my back, and the setup (miking etc.) is WAY simpler. I also suspect (but I have no way of knowing for sure since I can never hear what the audience hears), that the sound 'out front' is better because the complexity is reduced and the 'miked' sound is controlled by ME instead of some sound guy that is not educated on the fine points of miking & mixing a Leslie.
