My point is that $500 to someone who earns $40,000 a year is different
from someone who earns $100,000 a year.... We all put value on our
equipment... Some things are invaluable and you can;t put a price tag
on it. For instance, I would never sell my 1955 B3... or my mellotron,
or my G101... unless they offer me a whole lot of $$$$$$....

Although the Ventilator at $500 seems over-priced, it seems to compete
with this:

The H&K uses real tubes, but the Vent seems to nail down distortion
pretty well.

The value gets a little tricky when you start talking about
"upgrading" from a clone with a good sim and distortion effects (like
the XK3c or Nord). The improvement may be negligible to some, great to
others. But is it worth a $500 upgrade???? Only you can decide.
