Was that me? Than it was just a typo. Of course I know that the Optigan used discs with the same technology as the old optical soundtrack in movies. The sound is lo fi but warm. There is a manufacturer selling the entire Optigan library both in the lo fi disc version and as a high quality digital version of the original master tapes, which are of surprisingly high fidelity. Some great pipe organ sounds and wonderfully cheezy accompaniments including backing vocals.
:-D

BTW: no problem with being pedantic when it comes to the correct names of companies and product. Oh, and I am not that bad either ( ;-)   ) : Mellotron comes from MELody elecTRONics, with one "L" later added - who didn't know that, please raise their hand ;-)

Sorry to be pedantic (let's face it; I'm good at it...) but that's OPTIGAN.
Easy to remember; OPTIcal orGAN = OPTIGAN. Yes, that really is where the
name came from!
