Subject:Re: acoustic vrs. digital pianos OT!
Lot's of good advice already but I'll weigh in too.
Digital Vs. Acoustic. Even though the tone and action can vary widely in acoustics, they will always win (in good condition) over digitals BUT... If you can't commit to tuning at least once a year, better every 6 months or more, get a digital.
Beware, rebuilt can mean many things. Does it have new stings and pins? New hammers? New dampers? Has it been regulated?
Have a tech check it out. 60 years is an old piano. There's a reason they sell new pianos. Old ones wear out and a complete rebuild is usually more than the cost of a good new piano. I'd look for a console or studio in the 10 to 20 year old range.
Cheers,
Rock
