Subject:Vent review

After a lot of wailing, moaning and gnashing of teeth on my part I finally got the Vent smoking.
It was definitely operator error. I like to plug it in and play it. Same with synths and organs.
Hit Power and away we go.

I know some of you are able to dial these things in very quickly but I was doing a couple of things wrong with respect to the Hi/Lo button and gain on my mixer.

RTM? What's that?

As I previously posted, this thing really SMOKES with the XM2. It made that piece 100% better. I never used it until I got the Vent simply because the sim was so horrible and no amount of fussing with it helped. The Vent really made it come alive. If that is any indication of how an XK1 or XK3 would sound through the Vent then if you don't have one you need to get one. There is no comparison in the XK sims and the Vent. That was a big reason for me selling my XK3. No sim at the time did it justice and it was heavy. Plus carrying a Leslie made it almost as much of a hassle as carrying the B3.
With respect to the C2, it took some tweaking to get the EQ etc. set correctly or at least for my taste.
I've got it humming now and it really adds a new dimension to the C2. More depth in the Leslie effect and certainly a lot more warmth.

I can't wait to wire this dog up to my B3.

Bruce Wahler/Ashby Solutions has been absolutely stellar in helping me with hints and tips. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
That guy is 24/7 on our side.

So with that I'm off and spinning.

The top of the C2 now looks an explosion in the foot pedal department at GC.

I'll work on that later.

Run to the nearest dealer and buy one of these puppies.
