I thought about buying Acoustic Image, but it was too expensive to me, and when
I tried QSC K8, I really liked it. Anyway, I didn't buy Acoustic Image Ten2.
I was touring with two jazz trios this month, and my stuff is like this.
Nord C2 (w/ Roland PK5 and EV7)
Ventilator
QSC K8
They are very portable, and everything is light. It had a lot of bass, and since
I have A-102 and Leslie 145, I tweaked C2, Ventilator and K8 while playing and
listening to my A-102 and Leslie 145. It's very close, but since my A-102 and
Leslie 145 were made in 1961, and caps are old, it sounds darker and mellower.
I recommend K8 or K10 if you are looking for a lighter amp. They can be very
loud.

Dear Hal,
I currently use an Acoustic Image Coda Plus. I remember you mentioned Acoustic
Image as an amp you had used and so you may be able to answer my question. For
tone quality and left-hand bass sound, how does the K8 compare with the Acoustic
Image combo. My use is mostly organ trio (OGD). Do you have to carry in more
gear for EQ and reverb since the K8 does not have those functions?
I like the tone quality of the Acoustic Image amplifier, but sometimes it does
not have enough volume. I am wondering whether to buy another Acoustic Image
speaker so I can have two speakers on stage, or to instead switch just to one
K8.
Thanks!
Mel
