Subject:Studiologic VMK-161 Org
Mitch, we have a Studiologic VMK-161 Controller one in our store, and I have to say that... I dont' like it. While it has nice smooth keys (for palm/gliss technique), I found that the keys are stiff, the action is weirdly springy, the sharp keys are narrow, seem longer, and have a strange rough surface to them. It's a really strange keyboard and the look/feel really throws me off.
Studiologic deserve kudos for coming out with a controller specifically for us organ fans, but I have to say that I think that this controller has completely missed the mark (as far as keyboard action and feel). The slider/faders are also have quite a short "throw/travel", in other words they aren't even close to the distance that a drawbar moves in and out.. (from my perspective the edirol controller faders are the best for drawbar simulations)..
Other people may have different opinions, because feel is very subjective, but I would defintely recommend NOT buying this without trying it.
Regards,
Craig MacDonald

So, has anyone actually even seen one of these or played on one? Do they really
exist in the wild?
If so, I would love to hear some comments on it.
Thanks!
Mitch
