As I've discovered, I didn't deep enough in totally getting all the Leslies and amps OFF. Based on the what I was hearing and the sound it was putting out it was exactly that. My first reaction was that the Leslie was still on. I double checked the on/off button and it was off. I did not disengage the cabinet buttons.
And I didn't think to try the line out. I was also running at full tilt trying to play with the vent AND set everything else up. New toy, excitement. Etc.
Now I'm pumped about going at it tonight and doing it right this time.

David,
After someone in this forum suggested that a bunch of people are having with the Nord/Ventilator combos on the Keyboard Magazine forums, I signed on to their forums (which I had never done before so I had to get an ID/Password etc).. I did so because my C1/Ventilator combination is absolutely KILLER and I couldn't believe that anyone was having trouble with it!!! So then I read the entire Ventilator thread, and from what I see it's basically one guy who is extremly opinionated who seems complain about everything, especially things that someone else discovered.. he strikes me as kind of a "know-it-all" that doesn't want to be "out-knowed".
As far as I can see, this is the first time I have seen anyone, with any credibility, suggest that the ventilator was anything but spectacular AND I can guarantee that when we dig into this C2/Ventilator issue, mentioned in this forum, we will discover that the C2 Leslie or Amp sim was not turned off properly, or there was some other very basic problem that will be resolved with the push of a couple buttons.
My Ventilator sounded fantastic right out of the box.. I just had to kill the leslie sim, and personally, I love the close- miced sound!! I feel like I'm sitting right next to a leslie...
Anytime some new fantastic thing comes out, there are "naysayers" that pop up here and there.. That's what we're dealing with here.. The Ventilator is fantastic, and people are desperately trying to find problems with it!! Don't be sucked into that big black hole..
Regards,
Craig MacDonald

Bruce.. You have not seen it? I guess you have not been monitoring the
Keyboard Magazine Forum.
There are several posts in the Vent thread from Nord owners who have
been having issues. Very few if any from XK3 or Korg owners...
