I can answer these ...
> 1. On the keyboard split function, can it transmit on different MIDI channels for different sides of the split?
Yes. You'll be able to freely assign MIDI ch. 1-16 to either sound, and they'll operate independently, or you can assign the same channel to both sounds, and operate them together. The goal is to make this a per-program feature, so you're not stuck with one simple global setting.
> 2. Again on the keyboard split function, will it have a few good bass sounds to put on the left side, for covering left-hand bass gigs?
Yes. We're working with a sample-maker to provide us with not only acoustic and electric piano sounds, but some basses, strings, brass, and other sounds. We want this to be as much of an all-in-one keyboard as it can be, which means giving it some bass sounds, and some sounds for layering (such as piano w/ strings, etc.).
> 3. Will you be able to take any sound and assign it to either output?
Again, that's the goal -- assign any sound to any output, and store per program (not globally). If the 11-pin connector works out right (which it should, but it takes a little time to get it right), you should be able to have organ come out of the 11-pin into a rotary speaker, and simultaneously run your pianos & other sampled instruments out stereo or mono L or R. Or, without a rotary speaker, organ out of one TRS out, and piano/sampled instruments out the other.
