Hey Brian

The Keyboard & the Vent are not the cause. Your 3rd item in the chain is the problem. I have many playing hours on the Nord. That board has a great Hammond sound. Call me sometime & we can discuss some options. 717-292-0814 EST

Here it goes...YMMV...
I am having issues with the sound of my E2 and Vent combo. Here's how I have it
setup...
E2 > Vent input > L & R stereo output > ART Dual Tube MP Rack mount Pre > Line
Mixer > PA.
I am starting to think that Vent is showing the weakness of E2's Hammond
sound...Anyone else think this and what have you tried? I've even experimented
with the onboard EQ being on/off, different settings, etc.
I really get discouraged whenever I try to use C1/C2/C3 with the Vent it just
doesn't sound right. This began to rear its ugly head when our band started
working up "Fly Like An Eagle" by Steve Miller...That great C3 shimmer sounds
very wishy washy YMMV. I am also starting to get a little annoyed with trying to
quickly change drawbar settings from intros/verses/choruses/middle eight
etc...This started bothering me when we worked up "One Headlight" and "Refugee"
both songs have drawbar changes all over the place...I've even considered going
back and using my old analog BX-3-two manuals, two different drawbar settings at
once, the chorus/vibrato leaves a lot to be desired but it sure sounds "meaty"
with a Vent...I'm up for suggestions maybe I need to try a Hammond? Or start
saving for a C2? Is the sound really any better on either one of those? Thanks
for your input!!!
Cheers,
Brian
