Subject:Re: Vent ont tour

I believe we have reached the point where the B3 can be reproduced digitally for live performance, so the only reason to tour with one is for the "look" of it on-stage and the user interface and ergonomics of a real Hammond console.

After talking with the professional sound techs from The National tour over the past two days here in Oslo, they are mostly concerned with quality and dependability. As I mentioned in an earlier post, that is why they tour with an CX3. If anything ever goes wrong with it, they can rent one in every city.

I have several B3's and leslies, but never take them to gigs. These instruments are to be played in my home and studio. I have a performance rig (XK3c System) that is easily transportable and is close to the ergonomics of my B3. Anything closer would be much more difficult for me to transport (like a Hammicord or Diversi).

It is so nice to have choices. Back in the 60's and 70's there was only one way to get the Hammond sound.
