I LOVE my WK-3200... have it 5 years. There's a pretty good Mellotron(ish)
strings sound at # 170, I believe. I agree with your take on the Hammond
sounds - they're the settings I use least of all! I can spend hours screwing
around with all the synthesque functions. Great Casio!

conditions: Solo playing only (I don't gig), and in a room already equipped
with a Hammond B2, Rhodes, Vox Continental and Wurli. My take on it:

Hammond: The low point. Not at all realistic, especially for typical jazz
registrations or any clean rock/blues/gospel sounds. Hate the Leslie sim.
Percussion is loud and annoying. But some of the heavily over-driven Hammond
patches are good, and do a very nice Deep Purple sound.

Rhodes: Not perfect, but very pleasant and useable.

Vox: Really excellent (using settings suggested to me by Ryan). Add a
little sustain and it does a great Gibson-like "Touch Me."

Wurli: It's a Wurli without soul. It's far too clean, and lacks the deep
funkiness of the real thing. But it's a pleasant, musical sound.

Acoustic pianos: Pretty decent(especially if you ditch a lot of the heavy
reverb on the pre-set patches).

Despite the criticisms, it's a riot to play. (I could fool around all day
with the saxes, slap bass, vibes, crunch guitar, strings -- and even the
tuba sounds.) I'm sure that some of its sins are also far less noticeable in
a mix. And, for $150 or so for a used one, you can't beat the value.

If I owned a vacation home -- or were otherwise away from home for weeks
at a time -- this would be a perfect way to ease the pain of missing my real
vintage keys.
