Subject:Re:Casio PX-330/ Yamaha P-85

I noticed the "Muting" in this range of notes when I demoed the Casio
PX-330.

I also notice similar muting on some Yamaha instruments in this range. I
sold a P-80 for this very reason and I have noticed in somewhat when hearing
the P- 90 live.

However, I am demoing a Yamaha P-85 and I am VERY pleased with its Grand
Piano 2 . I am running it through an EQ and cutting the 1 k band and boosting
60 K a bit. This piano sounds VERY GOOD. So good that I see no reason to
upgrade to other more expensive recent Yamahas.

The action is not bad. Its kind of weak in the EP section.... however I
am not that happy with very many of the EP's in any stage piano save the
expensive Rolands and the Nord. Even and early Motif rack will solve this
problem.

The Yamaha P-85 sounds damn good to me . I discovered it while checking out
the new Casio. Piano 2 delivers the goods in an inexpensive package.... I
got mine off the shelf ( the store demo ) for $485.

To hear the capability of the P-85 you MUST run it through a good amp =
preferably with EQ. It sounds kind of wimpy through phones but comes alive
with the right amplification.
