My mistake, apologies, slightly dodgy volume control.

Same here, I am by no means an expert, just slowly gaining some understanding.
Anyway: I did not compare the two leslies in a 1:1 fashion, because one and the same leslie can sound very different when miked and mixed with different microphones, positions and EQ. So I was surprised how similar the Ventilator sounded to the 147. Of course there was a little more lower mid-range (hence the emphasis on the percussion) and the vibrato (fast) sounds a little different on the Ventilator (it seems to have a little more A.M., easily fixed by tweaking the mic distance I suppose). I also came across the leakage problem: the bass mic captures some of the horn and vice-versa, so I usually need to take out the frequency range buildup due to that leakage (it seems to be around 50-60 Hz, depending on the model and microphone placement/leakage). All this needs to be taken into account. I am still convinced that the Ventilator is fantastic.
Sorry for my ramblings, just sharing my thoughts and experiences,
Christian
