Subject:Re: New Leslie Clone!
I agree however there would need to be a really sophisticated software happening for a sim to figure out the rotor action when as a human listening to both rotors spinning, whether fast, slow or winding down, makes the judgment as to when to hit the switch based on the speed of each rotor and how to combine each rotor's spin for true mechanical Leslie characteristics. A sim would be an either/or static mix of basic rotor spin movements. Although there are adjustments available on some sims that vary the ramp speed of the rotors, it's still artificial at best. A software that duplicates the centrifugal forces of each rotor, the pulley notch the top rotor is set at, how taut or loose the belts are and whether the bass rotor is wood with weights or foam, will have to be developed to get much closer. That's just for the spin parameters. Now for the physical sensation of sound in 3 dimensional motion, bouncing off objects in the room and the music of the band itself, that's another matter altogether.? A lot of computations to say the least.
