Perfect! I'd go as far as saying: snare, vocals and random noise. Not just small venues, but especially larger ones. I remember lots of bands of all kinds of rock styles (including keys) with O.K.-ish or even good gear (so I didn't buy the "technical limitations" argument), but with a "sound guy" on the mixing console.
What I invariably heard was this: the snare drum being by far the loudest sound, vocals not far behind but unintelligible. Bass and kick drum: one muddy mess. The guitars: just a wall of noise, Nothing even resembling pitch or harmony. I couldn't hear if the keyboarder was playing or not: totally drowned out. Each time the drummer frantically hit the crash cymbals I didn't hear anything (unless I was near the stage) - just saw them moving - and the toms were just muddy low end. Perhaps not anymore, but for a huge part of the 70s, 80s and 90s this was your typical "rock festival" band experience - here in Europe at least - and I've seen quite a few.
