I can't comment on the Vk8m, but I have owned a V5 for years and it's very
good. Nice meaty sound. The only real compromise is the chorus, which
isn't the best I've heard. The Vk8m may have the edge there. The V5 is
small and built like a tank. I use mine as a controller with the Stage as
well, but a Midi Solutions box is required.
