join the VK_Corral group. the answer lives in the files section there. i would just post it here but I sold my VK-8 several years ago and am no longer a member. I do know it is programmable from an external sequencer (sys-x via MIDI), not a hardware mod. the info is not public so you have to wait until approved to join. As this question comes up semi-regularly, when you get your answer please post this info here in the files section, it surely will help someone like yourself sooner than later.
