I use an electric winch that I bought cheaply from Harbor Freight tools. The
second part is a platform when you suspend the Hammond to let it back down
when you have lifted it over top of the stairway that requires side pieces
on the walls. You slide in the platform while suspended. You then roll it
off the platform out of the stairway. I have moved B3s, various 3 series etc
countless times ***by myself*** from an 8 foot basement. Allows you to keep
your Hammonds in a de-humidified basement out of the way. You also have to
make your stairs removable. In the attic (one story house), I have 2" X 12"s
going over headers that the winch is connected to. I actually took up a huge
Player Piano that was probably like 700lbs this way also out of the basement
- by myself with ROKs.

One person to remove a Hammond from a basement is easy.
