Subject:Ventilator - Poor design? Another view...
I think that the post below clearly illustrates the difference between
how manufacturers consider the way Hammond players play their
instruments and ones that do not.
Although I admit that the Ventilator sounds very good, it seems like
the designer had no clue on how to design it for real Hammond
players. Thus our creative brethren have to come up with ridiculous
work-arounds to make it fit within their rigs.
Two foot switches? Give me a break!
No stereo? Does not matter to me, but for many of our colleagues it
may be a deal-breaker.
Designed like a guitarists' stomp box? Give me a break!
No US A/C adaptor? I wonder if this thing has be UL tested? I don't
think so.
Unless you are desperate for this improved Leslie sound, throwing $600
to a poorly designed stomp box may not be a wise move. I would wait
until Guido comes out with a Mark II design that addresses these
issues, and maybe until it is properly designed for US distribution...
