Subject:RE: Mic Replacements from Motion Sound
FYI
The microphone performance on some Motion Sound products was compromised when the mic element was glued to the foam vibration isolation mount. Sometimes improperly applied RTV silicone would cover the vent hole on the rear of the microphone vastly compromising it's response. The easy fix is to remove the mic element, be sure the vent hole is clear then re glue without obstructing the hole. The microphone element Motion Sound uses is the same but the glue problem is now identified and solved.

Subject: [CWSG] Mic Replacements from Motion Sound
As a strong user of Motion Sound products (been through a few), I currently gig with a MS-145 and Sub. I had to externally mic the 145 because I did not care for the "honk" of the internal mics. Much to my delight, when talking to the tech at MS, he said that there were issues with the mic assemblies in my unit and that they would send new & improved elements to replace them, gratis.
L Story-Short: what a difference! Really. I am now fine with using the new internal mics and will be next week at our gig in Mt Clemens (Sweet Crystal at the The Hayloft on 11/28, 9PM - join us). I suggest anyone with an internally mic'ed MS amp give them a call. Well worth the upgrade.
