Absolutely. When miked all bets are off. This is where a good Leslie sim works well. Even my XK3c works well in a loud band.

I agree, the leslie is the toughest thing to let go of (even though we all know the clones are still distant 2nds to a Hammond tonewheel, as rediscovered everytime you sit and play one).
And if you are playing in a jazz trio (nothing mic'd), in a true acoustic environment, there's still no recreating that. But the moment microphones and 'mixing' enters the equation, all bets are off. B4 was really my go-to clone/leslie of choice (next to my Speakeasy RocBox), and the only real acceptable facsimile, but the Ventilator has really changed all that.
And since I play in rock bands where things are all mic'd up, I'm finding the Ventilator to be more than acceptable, it's being chosen over my leslie where bringing the leslie is an option.

I'll play a clone but my Leslie has to be real, is where I draw the
line. Fake the tonewheel, but moving air can only be done properly, at
least at this stage of technology, by the real thing. However, it is
good someone is taking up the challenge to get a Leslie on a chip.
