Another "cooler than you might imagine" B-3 woman is Cherry Wainer. Born in South Africa, she sprang to fame in the late 1950s as organist with Lord Rockingham's XI, house band for the ITV pop music show "Oh Boy". The band had a 1958 hit with "Hoots Mon", a rock 'n' roll version of the Scottish patriotic song "A Hundred Pipers", heavily featuring Wainer's custom quilted -satin B3, and one of Britain's first home-grown rock hits.

Now THERE's a lady who can kick those B-3 pedals! Funny that the
drummer appears not to know what she's meant to be doing though... ;-)

And by the same band, an instrumental worthy of Booker T - "The Skip"
