Subject:Re: Dual Roland KC-550's
I have a Roland 300SX that I use along with my Roland VCombo for organ sounds. I find both benefit tremendously from a SpeakEasy Vintage Tube preamp. It really takes the shrill out of the keyboards and ups the volume significantly that my amps can handle. In addition it allows me to adjust the gain as well as the treble and bass to get a great sound.

I use a Roland RD 700SX and a Roland KC-550. I do not like to plug into the PA because it takes away from the singers. I need something a little more capable in small auditorium venues because I find the single KC-550 is a little shrill past 1/2 volume.
I am contemplating purchasing another KC-550 and run them in true stereo and hopefully I will not have to exceed 1/2 volume setting on either of them and I will be able to maintain the full sound that I get on the single amp at the lower levels.
I play organ, piano and horn parts with the instrument and I have also contemplated the Roland KCW-1 Active Subwoofer addition but the additional amp in stereo seems to be the best way to go from a common sense approach. From the financial approach we are talking about 100.00 more for the KC-550.
If anyone has any experience with any of these setups I would appreciate hearing from you.
