Subject:Re: Mixer recommendation please.

Another recommendation for a Mackie 1202. Most mini mixers fall into the "budget" class so I don't think that by itself is a terribly meaningful criticism. But I've had a Mackie brick for over a decade and it just works. Mine has been rock-solid reliable, clean sounding if set it up right, and has some really clever features that make it versatile. The Alt 3/4 bus is a really great tool once you get your head wrapped around it. Combined with the "control room" output and the "source matrix", you can easily add things to your monitor mix that you don't want sent to FOH, like click tracks or vocal monitor feeds. Those features are also really handy in a recording setup.
