Subject:Re: Sound 'Engineers' was: Ventilator up for competition?
Well, at the moment I use my little 30-watt guitar amp as a stage monitor. BUT... it has two inputs. One for my WK-3000 and one for the Stylophone. The volume pedal connects across the amp's FX loop and therefore controls both instruments. I always insist on the sound engineer using the amp's Line Out via a DI box, so I know that the signal to the desk will be what I'm used to and will respond correctly to my playing. Not long ago I met a keyboardist who was playing a Nord Stage directly through the PA, and his volume pedal was placed between the keyboard and his monitor amp. In other words, the pedal had no effect on the level being hear by the audience! Waste of a Nord Stage, if you ask me...
