Lou,

Ebay is probably the best source for spare sets of motors.

The next best thing would be to buy a set brand new. Yes, they can be
purchased brand new, however, probably not a cost effective option. Last
I checked (about a year ago) the upper stack was $199 and the lower
stack was $219.

IMHO, Leslie motors are built like tanks and shouldn't quit on you so
long as you oil them on a regular basis and clean them every few years.
Most churches don't even do this and the motors still run just fine. A
spare amp or set of tubes is really where you need to invest your money.

Essentially, I don't want the speaker to be out of commission for more than as long as it takes to swap some motors. So for those of you that use Leslies or equivalent, what is the best source for spare motors? Take my luck on eBay? Or would it just be better to buy some rebuilt motors from a reliable source? I have 9 months or so to figure this out, so I would like your opinions. Some of the stuff I have seen on eBay looks pretty bad lately, but is it worth fixing up? And the stuff that does look pretty good usually costs like it. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
