Subject:Re: Should I buy a CX-3?
I just noticed your post asking if it sounds good through a real leslie, and yes, that does roll a bunch of the harshness off. If it's a tube leslie it also takes care of the overdrive problem quite nicely. The only negative I've fond when A/Bing it with my hammonds and other clones through the leslie is it's a tiny bit sterile. I've found that my older CX3 actually sounds better through the leslie, it has a bit more warmth than the new one. Using a little c1 chorus on the new CX3 helps, but I'm not a chorus guy, I never use it on any of the hammonds. One of my clones has to go though, and dragging a leslie at this point is out of the question, so I'm keeping the new CX just because the leslie is that on target.
