could be...but until it does, you can never keep abreast of the upgrade carousel...CPU's change and the audio industry has nothing much to say about it. Get a good recorder with good sounding AD/DA's and work with what you have until it falls apart or you do first...and let the upgrades go to those who can afford it and have the people to sort it all out otherwise you'll be stuck on the upgrade merry-go-round..and not getting much recording done....

I'm trying to record my band into my laptop and I'm thinking of
getting an audio interface.
Have any of you guys ever used the Tascam US-1641?
I'm looking for something that's affordable and will work with garage
